Introduction
My name is Gavin Gration, I'm 16 and attend West Hill School in Stalybridge, Cheshire. I'm raising funds for a ONE MONTH expedition to Kenya in Summer 2011
As part of my Duke of Edinburgh Award I need to raise funds to help pay towards a four week Community Project Expedition with Camps International in Kenya.
The total cost of the expedition is £3,370. It is being organised by West Hill School Duke of Edinburgh co-ordinators with Camps International and will take place in the summer of 2011.
A small proportion of the funds is expected to be raised through communal events organised by my school. However, it's up to me to raise as much as I can towards the total amount.
Tameside XL Triathlon - 88th Place!
The 2010 Tameside XL Triathlon was a great success and a fantastic fund-raiser. I have been training for months and when the day arrived I was all set and ready to go. The weather on the other hand was more like a monsoon!
I rocketed the 500 metre swim (the driest part of the course) and was ploughing through the bike course, when all of a sudden POP! After changing an inner-tube with my frozen fingers, I was off again. I waded through the run stage to take a satisfying 88th place.
I would like to thank the many friends and family members who helped me to raise valuable funds. Thanks also to the following Tameside businesses for their continued support:
Avive Ltd, E J Tapper Electronics, Freshlook Ironing, Peak Pix, Manchester Video, Stalybridge Post Office, Tierney Property Management.
I will continue my training and try to enter the next available events!

World Famous Opportunity
Stalybridge (a.k.a Staley Vegas) is my home town and is world famous for having the longest and shortest pub names as verified by the Guiness Book of World Records, Beartrix Potter, the Huddersfield Narrow Canal, Jack Judge, Armentiers Square, Klangbury Town Hall and also Stalybridge brass band which is the oldest civilian brass band in the world!
For more info on this brilliant little town visit www.stalybridge.org.uk or even better come and see for yourself!
To celebrate Stalybridge in 2011 I am creating a Stalybridge 2011 year planner!
In 2010 I celebrated Stalybridge's pub history by creating a Staly Vegas year planner. In the end I managed to sell 50 units which paid for themselves and added much needed money to my fund.
With my 2011 year planners I intend to raise at least double that of the 2010 planners.
If you are interested please pre-order today!
Below is a list of the recomended minimum donations for year planers. Local orders are welcome by e-mail and can be paid for via PayPal. Global orders please enquire by email as postage will vary. Electronic PDF format also avaiable (A3 recomended). Please leave details.
